Adding the Evaluate Risk Level Automatic Decision Step
Note: This topic is part of the Creating a Project Proposal Approval Workflow: Example series.
The Evaluate Risk Level step is an automatic decision step, meaning it automatically selects one of multiple paths based on the value of a field.
The Evaluate Risk Level step checks the value of the Risk Level field in the proposal. Then, it uses this value to determine how the workflow proceeds.
To add the Evaluate Risk Level automatic decision step:
- In the Workflow Design toolbar, select Add an automatic decision step and drag it onto the workflow design canvas.
- Position the new step below the Collect Proposal Data step icon.
- In the Automatic Decision area, in the Name field, enter Evaluate Risk Level.
- In the Description field, enter the following text: Proposals with a Risk Level value of Very Low, Low, or Medium are automatically approved. All others require additional information.
- In the Collect Proposal Data step icon, select Draw connector line, and then select the Evaluate Risk Level step icon.
- Select Save.
