Resource Demand
Use the Resource Demand page to define project labor requirements for the workspace-level roles assigned to the projects in your portfolio. Demand planning is the first step in the portfolio resource planning process. Use the page to assign workspace roles to your project and estimate the labor units required to perform the project work. Demand units for all projects in a portfolio are reviewed at the portfolio level. A portfolio manager develops different role allocation scenarios and chooses the scenario that maximizes the portfolio's value without overallocating the roles in the selected projects.
After a scenario is approved, role units are committed to the projects in the scenario. You can review committed units to monitor underallocated and overallocated roles, updating role demand units if necessary. After project execution has begun, copy role demand units from the existing resource assignments in your project's schedule.
