Create Role Demand from Existing Resource Assignments
After project execution has begun, you can use the Resource Demand page to copy role demand units from your project's resource assignments. The process groups your project's resource assignments by role. Then, remaining units in weekly intervals are copied to the respective role demand's weekly intervals. Only remaining units from the project's current data date to the project's end date are copied. If a matching role demand is found, you can choose to keep existing demands or update the demand, and delete any roles from the page that are not in the current schedule.
To use this feature, the roles must be available for use at the workspace level. Resource assignments without an associated role are not considered.
To create role demand from existing resource assignments:
- In the object selector, select ﱆ Project, select View Projects List, and then select a project name.
- From the Main Menu, select Resources, and then select Resource Demand.
- Select Actions , and then select Create Demand from Schedule.
- In the Create Demand From Schedule dialog box, choose one of the following options if a matching role demand is found:
- Keep Existing Demands: Keeps the existing role demand units and ignores the units being copied.
- Update Demands: Updates the existing role demand units with the units being copied.
- (Optional) Delete roles that are not in current schedule: Select this option to remove any roles from the Resource Demand page that do not have demand values in the current project schedule.
- Select Create.
Tips
- During the creation process, the page is read-only. When the process is complete, you will receive a system notification with a link to the Resource Demand page.
