Share a Report with Child Workspaces
Share workspace reports with child workspaces so that the users who do not have access to the parent workspace can view and run the reports from the child workspaces. Workspace reports are not shared with child workspaces by default. When you share a workspace report with child workspaces, users in the child workspaces can run the report, schedule the report to run at a designated time, duplicate the report, or export it to XML.
To share a report with a child workspace:
- In the object selector, select Workspace, select View Workspaces List, and then select a workspace name.
- In the sidebar, select Reports.
- In the page selector, select Report List.
- On the Report List page, in the table, select a report, select the Context menu, and then select Share with Child Workspaces.
Notes:
- Only workspace reports can be shared with child workspaces.
- When you share a report with child workspaces, it is shared with all child workspaces in the hierarchy.
- Reports in the child workspaces reflect any changes made to the report definition or layout from the parent workspace.
- Users in the child workspaces cannot edit or add a layout to a shared report.
- If a workspace is moved or exported, then any workspace reports shared with the child workspaces remain shared until you manually turn off the sharing.
- Only users with the Run and View Workspace Report privilege in the child workspace can run the report or export it to XML.
- To duplicate a report from a child workspace, you must have the Workspace Report Edit privilege in the Report permission set for the workspace.
Tips
- To unshare a report, select a report, select the Context menu, and then select Stop Sharing with Child Workspaces.
