Assign a User or User Group Access to a Report
After a user report is promoted to a workspace, project, program, or portfolio report, report permission sets control the accessibility of the report to other workspace or project members. You can also set security for a report at the individual report level. This gives you the ability to accommodate situations where the report security settings are too broad. For example, if you want to grant a user editing rights to a single report but the user has view-only workspace report privileges, you can assign the user editing rights for only that report. The user will then be able to edit that report, yet still maintain only viewing rights to all other workspace reports.
Notes:
- Workspace reports are automatically inherited by child workspaces but are only visible to users with appropriate security privileges. To ensure non-admin users can view a workspace report, either assign the users access to the specific report or assign privileges in the report's owning workspace.
- You must be in the workspace report's owning workspace to assign it security.
To assign access to a report:
- In the object selector, select Workspace, ﱆ Project, Portfolio, or Program, and then select an object name from the list.
- From the Main Menu, select Reports, and then select Report List.
- On the Report List page, in the table, select a report, and select the Security detail window.
- In the Security detail window, select Assign, and do one of the following:
- To assign individual user security, select User.
- To assign group security, select Group.
- In the Assign dialog box, enter a group or username in the search box.
- Select the group or username from the search results, and select Next.
- In the Permission Set field, select a report permission set.
- Select Assign.
- Select Save.
Tips
- There are two permission sets provided by the application that you can assign to users and user groups:
- The Administrator (System) permission set has all privileges assigned. It grants all functionality for an object as well as access to all of the object's data. It also grants the ability to edit the user and user group security for that object.
- The View Only (System) permission set provides read-only access to objects and their data.
