Add the Idea Approval Decision Step
Note: This topic is part of the Custom Idea Workflow: Example series.
At this step, the idea owner will make a decision on the idea.
The idea owner has two options: accept the idea and create a project proposal, or reject the idea. The idea owner will receive a workflow task to view the New Idea Review form, make changes if necessary, and then accept or reject the idea. If the idea is rejected, the workflow ends. If the idea is accepted, then the idea progresses to a project proposal.
To add the Idea Approval step:
- On the Workflow Design toolbar, select Add a manual decision step, and drag it onto the workflow design canvas.
- Position the new step below the Change Status to Owner Assigned step icon.
- In the Manual Decision area, in the Name field, enter Idea Approval.
- In the Task Name field, enter Idea Approval Decision.
- In the Decision Question field, enter Accept and turn into project proposal, or reject this idea?
- On the workflow design canvas, in the Change Status to Owner Assigned step icon, select Draw connector line, and then select the Idea Approval step icon.
- Select Save.
