Configure Problem Statement Field
Note: This topic is part of the Custom Idea Workflow: Example series.
Field mappings specify correspondences between the fields of different types of objects. A field mapping between projects and ideas establishes relationships between idea and project fields that can be used in workflows for tasks such as project creation.
Because projects do not have a default field label for the problem or opportunity, a field must be configured to map the problem from the idea to the project proposal. When the project proposal form is completed, the problem or opportunity that influenced the idea will be prepopulated on that form.
- In the object selector, select Workspace, select View Workspaces List, and then select a workspace name.
- From the Main Menu, select Summary & Settings.
- On the Summary & Settings page, select Defaults & Options, and then select Project.
- Select the Configured Fields tab.
- On the Configured Fields table, select Add, and complete the following fields:
- In the Column Label field, enter Problem Statement.
- In the View Column Name field, enter PROBLEM_STATEMENT.
- In the Data Type field, select Text.
- In the Type field, select Manual.
- In the Summary Calculation field, select None.
- In the Field Length field, enter 255.
- Select Save.
Tips
- To delete a configured field, select the field, select Context, and then select Delete. You cannot delete a configured field if it is used in another configured field, a form, a workflow, or a field mapping.
