Send a Resource Plan Scenario for Approval
After a resource plan scenario is reviewed and its proposal of role allocation values is accepted by the project managers of the projects in the scenario, it can then be sent for approval.
When a portfolio manager sends the chosen scenario for approval, the designated approvers are sent a notification and are provided with a link to the Resource Planning page.
Note: Before sending the scenario for review, select Refresh to run the portfolio filter to ensure all projects are included in the scenario.
You must have the appropriate security privileges to send a resource plan scenario for approval.
To send a resource plan for approval:
- In the object selector, select Portfolio, and then select View Portfolios List.
- Select a portfolio name.
- From the Main Menu, select Resources, and then select Resource Planning.
- On the Resource Planning page, select the scenario menu, and select Send for Approval.
- In the Send for Approval dialog box, view the names of the users assigned the approver role on the portfolio who will receive notification, and select Send for Approval.
Tips
- After a resource plan scenario is sent for approval, the status, as shown on the scenario tab, is automatically set to Under Approval.
- When the status of a scenario is Under Approval, the scenario cannot be updated. To make changes to the scenario, the status must be set back to In Planning by selecting the scenario menu and selecting Plan.
