Approve a Resource Plan Scenario
When it is determined that the best possible scenario has been created and the correct group of projects has been selected for execution, then the scenario can be approved. When a resource scenario is approved, the proposed allocation units for the roles in each selected project become the committed unit values for the planning period. Committed units are visible on the Resource Demand page.
You must have the appropriate security privileges to approve a resource plan scenario.
To approve a resource plan scenario:
- In the object selector, select Portfolio, and then select View Portfolios List.
- Select a portfolio name.
- From the Main Menu, select Resources, and then select Resource Planning.
- Select the scenario for approval.
- Select the scenario menu, and select Approve.
Tips
- When the status of a scenario is Approved, the scenario becomes the approved resource plan and cannot be updated.
- After a scenario is approved, any existing committed units are overwritten with the approved units.
- Scenarios that were not selected as the final plan will remain on the Resource Planning page. If you do not need to refer back to these plans, you can delete the scenarios or hide them. To delete the scenarios, select the scenario menu, and select Delete. To hide the scenarios, select Hide for each scenario you do not want to view.
- The discussions for the approved resource plan are stored in the discussions for the plan.
