Assign a Location to a File
Assign locations to files so you can later produce reports based on geographical location and filter views by location.
To assign a location to a file:
- Navigate to the files page
- In the object selector, select ﱆ Project, Portfolio, Program, or Idea, and then select an object from the list.
- From the Main Menu, select Files, and then select File List.
- In the table, select a file row, and then select the Location detail window.
- Choose an existing location, or enter a new location.
- To choose an existing location:
- In the Name field, select Select.
- In the Select Location dialog box, choose a location, and select OK.
- To add a new location:
- In the Name field, enter a name for the new location.
- Enter the address, and select Locate. Alternatively, you can enter the Latitude and Longitude and select Locate.
Notes:
- Input longitude and latitude in the format that is appropriate for your geolocation service. Enter longitude and latitude in decimal degrees or directional designators.
- Select a country when locating using longitude and latitude to improve results.
- To save this location to the Locations dictionary at the workspace level, select Save location for future use.
- (Optional) In the Description field, enter a description of the location. The location must be saved for future use to enter a description.
- Select Save.
