Configure a Role Hierarchy in a Project
Role hierarchies enable you to group similar roles together for easier organization and management. Examples of role hierarchies might be industry or job title.
Configure hierarchies by adding a child role or indenting an existing role beneath another role. A project role can only be made a child if it is owned by the current project. When roles in a hierarchy are assigned to child workspaces or projects within the workspace, the hierarchy is retained and the assigned roles cannot be changed. However, you can add roles from the current project to the assigned hierarchy. Oracle Primavera Cloud supports role hierarchies up to 30 levels.
To configure a role hierarchy:
- Navigate to the project roles page
- In the object selector, select ﱆ Project, select View Projects List, and then select a project name.
- From the Main Menu, select Resources, and then select Role List.
- In the table, select a role, select Context the menu, and then do either of the following:
- To add a new role, select Add Sibling or Add Child.
- To modify an existing role, select Move Left or Move Right.
- All changes made to this page are saved automatically.
Tips
- The Owned By column indicates the workspace or project to which the role belongs. Most role information can only be edited in the workspace or project where it is owned.
