Propose a Portfolio Budget Plan Scenario
Budget plan scenario proposals are shared with the project managers, who may also be referred to as project owners, during the budget negotiation process.
When a budget planner sends a scenario proposal, the project manager for each project selected for inclusion in the budget plan scenario is sent notification and is provided with a link to the Cash Flow page.
Note: Before sending the scenario for review, select Refresh to run the portfolio filter to ensure all projects are included in the scenario.
To send a budget plan scenario proposal:
- In the object selector, select Portfolio, and then select View Portfolios List.
- Select a portfolio name.
- From the Main Menu, select Cost and Funds, and then select Budget Planning or Published Views.
- Select an analysis view.
- Select the scenario menu, and select Propose.
- In the Propose Scenario dialog box, view the list of project owners that will receive notification, and select Propose.
Tips
- After a budget plan scenario proposal is sent, the status, as shown on the scenario tab, is automatically set to Proposed.
- When the status of a scenario is Proposed, the scenario cannot be updated. To make changes to the scenario, the status must be set back to In Planning by selecting the scenario menu and selecting Plan. If the scenario is set back to In Planning, project managers will not be able to view the proposed values. The scenario must be shared again to continue with budget negotiations.
- Only one scenario can be shared at a time.
