Configure the Project Leveling Priority

Use the Project Leveling Priority field to assign the order in which projects in an open program are leveled. You can sort priority rankings in ascending or descending order. The sort order helps the leveler determine which projects and activities to move first in the program schedule during leveling.

The default value is 10, and the priority range is 1 to 100. This priority applies to any program that contains the project. For example, if you rank a project as 10, and the project exists in multiple programs, then the project is ranked 10 in each program.

To configure project leveling priorities:

  1. Navigate to the Projects page
  2. Ensure the Project Leveling Priority column is displayed in the grid. If you do not have a view that contains this column, use Settings to add it to the current view.
  3. In the Project Leveling Priority list, select a priority value.
  4. All changes made to this page are saved automatically.

Tip

  • When you copy a project, the new project inherits the Project Leveling Priority value. For example, if the copied project has a value of 8, the new project also has a value of 8.
