Assign a Code to a Task
Assign codes to tasks to help track them based on attributes they share. When managing a large number of tasks, you can use views to filter and group tasks by code. You can assign workspace-level and project-level codes to tasks.
To assign a code value to a task from the Task List page:
- In the object selector, select ﱆ Project, select View Projects List, and then select a project name.
- From the Main Menu, select Tasks, and then select Task List.
- In the Task List, select a task.
- In the code column, select to open the settings dialog for the code.
Note: The code must be configured as a column in your current view settings for it to be visible in the Task List grid.
- In the settings dialog, select a code value from the list of available options, or create a new value using the New Code Value Name and New Code Value ID fields. New values are added to the list of options for the selected code.
- All changes made to this page are saved automatically.
Note: You must be working in a project to assign a project-level code to a task from the Task List.
Tips
- You can also assign a code to a task when working on the Activities page using Activity Details window. In the Tasks detail window, and then select Task Grid Settings to add code columns to the grid. In the code field, select to assign a code.
