Add a Project-level Code
Codes enable you to categorize and track objects based on attributes they share. Add codes to the project Codes dictionary if they should only be available to a specific project. You can promote project-level codes if they should be made available to other objects in the project's parent workspace.
You can apply project-level codes to activities and tasks within the project.
To add a project-level code:
- Navigate to the project Codes dictionary page
- In the object selector, select ﱆ Project, select View Projects List, and then select a project name.
- From the Main Menu, select Summary & Settings.
- On the Summary & Settings page, select Dictionaries, and then select Codes.
- In the table, select Add Code .
- In the new row, in the Name and ID columns, enter a name and ID for the new code.
- In the Applies to panel, select one or more objects to apply the code. All are selected by default.
- Activities: Select to make the code available for assignment to activities in the project.
- Tasks: Select to make the code available for assignment to tasks in the project.
- Select Save.
Tips
- Individual activity and task code values can be associated with a color. Colors associated with activity codes are used for activity bars in the Gantt chart on the Activities page. Colors associated with task codes are used for task bars in the Gantt chart on the Task List page and task cards on Tasks App pages.
- To promote a code and its values to the parent workspace Codes dictionary, select a code in the table, select the Context menu, and then select Promote to Workspace. Select Save.
