Propose a Resource Plan Scenario
Resource plan scenario proposals are shared with the project managers, who may also be referred to as project owners, during the role allocation negotiation process. The proposal enables portfolio managers to gain input from the project owners before a final scenario approval. The project owners can accept the proposed allocations or request changes.
When a portfolio manager sends a scenario proposal, the project manager for each project included in the resource plan scenario is sent a notification and is provided with a link to the Resource Demand page.
Note: Before sending the scenario for review, select Refresh to run the portfolio filter to ensure all projects are included in the scenario.
You must have the appropriate security privileges to send a resource plan scenario proposal.
To send a resource plan scenario proposal:
- In the object selector, select Portfolio, and then select View Portfolios List.
- Select a portfolio name.
- From the Main Menu, select Resources, and then select Resource Planning.
- On the Resource Planning page, select the scenario menu, and select Propose.
- In the Propose Scenario dialog box, view the list of project owners that will receive notification, and select Propose.
Tips
- After a resource plan scenario proposal is sent, the status, as shown on the scenario tab, is set to Pending Proposal. After the Propose Scenario process completes and the page is reloaded, the scenario is set to Proposed.
- When the status of a scenario is Proposed, the scenario cannot be updated. To make changes to the scenario, the status must be set back to In Planning by selecting the scenario menu and selecting Plan. If the scenario is set back to In Planning, project managers will not be able to view the proposed values. The scenario must be shared again to continue with negotiations.
- Only one scenario can be shared at a time.
